It can be a big step accepting a new job especially if you haven't worked for a while. However there are lots of incentives for you to accept your new job.

Often you will still be able to claim some benefits to help you find your feet in your new job. You may be entitled to Working Tax Credits, a Job Grant or some Housing Benefit or Council Tax benefit. Just because you have started work doesn't mean that your entitlement to benefits will stop automatically. It depends on how much you are earning. It is always worth checking with a benefits adviser to see if you are entitled to claim anything.
